Fans of Popstar to Operastar’s Joseph Washbourn, formerly of band Toploader fame, could hire him for their wedding entertainment solution to serenade their wedding guests at the evening reception.

The competition, which was won by Joe McElderry, inspired Joseph to embrace opera more and he said weddings and parties for friends were likely to be his place of choice to demonstrate his operatic skills more in the future. He ruled out the chances of performing any arias at future Toploader gigs, as well as frilly shirts or the colour pink, but said some opera inspired songs might be found on the next album the band releases.
