After proposing to Valerie Knox on her birthday, Valentine’s Day, after a two and a half year relationship, 70 year old Michael Rush set about searching for a location for the wedding reception. Michael is a resident at Joyce Brooks House, a sheltered housing establishment in Colchester, and while plans for the wedding were being drawn up, the suggestion was made that Joyce Brooks could host his wedding reception.
